Sugar & Spice Cookies
| 3/4 cup margarine |
| 1 cup sugar |
| 1 egg |
| 1/4 cup molasses |
| 2 cups unbleached flour |
| 2 teaspoons baking soda |
| 1/2 teaspoon salt |
| 1 teaspoon cinnamon |
| 3/4 teaspoon ground cloves |
| 3/4 teaspoon ginger |
| Granulated sugar to roll cookies in |
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- In a large mixing bowl cream margarine and sugar until fluffy. Add egg and molasses and mix thoroughly.
- Add the remaining dry ingredients: flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, cloves, and ginger. Beat until thoroughly combined.
- Taking heaping teaspoonfuls of dough and roll into walnut sized balls. Roll in sugar and place on ungreased cookie sheet.
- Bake at 350 degrees F. for 10 minutes.
- Let sit on cookie sheet 1-2 minutes. Then transfer to cooling rack.
Makes about 40 cookies
